TDWI Speaker: Fern Halper, TDWI Research Director
Date: Thursday, November 13 , 2014
Time: 9:00 a.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. ET
Webinar Abstract
Data and analytics are becoming more important than ever to businesses. However, the popularity of analytics is a double-edged sword when it comes to communicating results. Analytics professionals often fail to present results in a strong context and in a memorable, repeatable form. Some analysts have already turned to storytelling. Although results are often good, it also becomes clear that storytelling with data is both an art and a science. Its mastery improves with guidance.
This Webinar will help both business and technical analysts to develop the storytelling skill set. It will provide key best practices on both the business and technical fronts. Technical professionals need to know how to tell the story and keep the audience’s attention. Business people need to know how to present and defend their story by avoiding common problems that plague those new to analytics and by adapting a few traditional storytelling techniques.
Join us for a lively round table discussion with representatives from ClearStory Data and Cloudera, moderated by Fern Halper and Ted Cuzzillo. This discussion will be based on the recently released TDWI Checklist Report, Telling a Story with Data, and will cover some of the best practices and tips for success in this increasingly important area.
