Webinar Speaker: Fern Halper, TDWI VP Research, Senior Research Director for Advanced Analytics
Date: Monday, November 18, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET
Distributed data is a reality for most organizations today. As businesses grow and evolve, they often find themselves managing a variety of data sources, driven by past decisions and operational needs. Factors like business unit demands, the adoption of CRM and ERP systems, and the impact of mergers and acquisitions add to the complexity. To implement advanced analytics and AI, organizations are also collecting diverse data types—structured and unstructured, including text, machine data, and real-time data—all critical for building AI models and applications.
As organizations manage this growing data landscape, they often use a mix of on-premises systems and cloud platforms, which leads to distributed data across multiple environments. Previous TDWI research highlights that many organizations operate in hybrid environments, with data spread across both on-premises and cloud platforms. However, the challenge of managing distributed systems can lead to technical debt, particularly when retaining legacy systems that still hold value but add complexity and overhead to modern data management efforts.
Join TDWI’s VP of Research, Fern Halper, as she explores the results of TDWI’s latest research and moderates a panel of experts discussing best practices for distributed data management. Topics include:
- The state of distributed data management
- Challenges and opportunities for distributed data management
- Best practices for overcoming the challenges
- Recommendations for getting started
