AI agents are now part of everyday enterprise work. Two years ago, developers built and tested them; today an analyst in finance or a manager in customer operations can build one in an afternoon. Many more people and processes now act on enterprise data, often without seeing the data itself.
Yet agents that worked well in demonstrations often fail to reach production, and the reasons are usually data problems. An agent's answers always sound certain, although some are wrong. The data behind an answer often cannot be traced to its source, or there may be conflicting data coming from multiple sources. And access and quality rules are applied inconsistently, because they are written in policy documents and not built into the systems the agent uses.
Success depends on trusted context: data, metadata, and policy that are authoritative, traceable, and governed. In TDWI research, 64% of organizations reporting measurable value from AI say company-specific data is critical to their applications. The capabilities are familiar ones, but agents need to unify the data quality, master data, catalog, and lineage into a trusted data foundation delivered as services agents can call when they act.
In this webinar, TDWI's Donald Farmer joins experts from Informatica and Microsoft to show how one data foundation can serve both analytics and agents.
You will learn:
- Why agent pilots are delayed, and which data problems cause it
- What makes context trusted enough for an agent to act on
- How to evaluate data management across your analytics and agent platforms
- How to move a first departmental agent to production in four phases
- Which measures show whether the data foundation is working
