Agentic AI Readiness Assessment
January 8, 2026
Agentic AI is emerging as one of the most important enterprise technology trends in 2026. Moving beyond copilots and single-task automation, agentic AI systems can plan, reason, take action across systems, and coordinate with other agents. The opportunity is significant, but so are the technical, organizational, and governance challenges. Can your company take advantage of the shift? That will depend on whether you are prepared to adopt agentic AI responsibly and at scale.
The TDWI Agentic AI Readiness Assessment is designed to answer that question. This is a readiness assessment, not a maturity model. It evaluates whether the foundational capabilities, skills, processes, and architectural decisions required for agentic AI are being put in place, regardless of whether agents are already deployed.
The assessment evaluates readiness across five critical dimensions: Organizational Readiness, Data and Context Readiness, Tech and Engineering Readiness, Governance, Risk, and Control Readiness, and Operationalization and Learning Readiness. Together, these dimensions reflect what organizations must have in place before agentic AI can move from experimentation to sustainable, enterprise-grade use.
Once you complete the assessment, you will receive quantitative scores that measure your readiness overall and within each dimension. Your results are mapped to five clear readiness stages: Not Ready, Aware, Preparing, Enabled, and Ready to Operationalize. These stages provide a practical, forward-looking view of where you stand today, and what must be addressed next.
