2023 TDWI Teams, Skills, and Budgets Report

As data and analytics change and evolve, so, too, do the teams involved in making them successful. For instance, we’re seeing the emergence of new teams such as DataOps teams (which integrate, transform, and prepare data for deployment into BI, reporting, and ad hoc analytics applications) and MLOps teams (which are responsible for building, training, serving, and optimizing statistical models such as machine learning and natural language processing) that power many intelligent applications.
This year, we examined ten specific teams across data and analytics functions: BI/analytics, centers of excellence (CoE), data architecture, data governance, data products, data science, data security, data warehouse/data lake (DW/DL), DataOps, and MLOps.
The Teams, Skills, and Budgets Report provides TDWI members with a comprehensive view of the kinds of data and analytics teams we’re seeing in companies, who works on these teams, their size, their budget, what types of tasks they perform, and their stage of maturity.
New in 2023, we have revamped the look and feel of the Teams Report to provide you with more easily digestible information.
