ATTENTION ALL BI/DW AND ANALYTICS PROFESSIONALS
Dear Vancouver BI/DW and Analytics Professionals,
Please join TDWI Vancouver Chapter on Friday November 13th. Apologies for the late notice, we had a bit of a challenge nailing down this topic, and the presenters, but we think you will enjoy the informal result.

Have you been following the steady buzz about cloud storage and the joys of integrating cloud silos with on-premise silos? The war stories always seem to mention the 'blood' and even though all the battles have not been won, the approach is gaining momentum for all but the most 'stuck' legacy apps. And the Internet of Things (IoT) stories in the media are looking like the edge of a 'tsunami' or megatrend as the 'data fabric' of all those Internet connected devices is pulled over the Web.

But where to start?  Come out on November 13th to hear about an approach you and your organization could use to dispel some of the fog swirling around cloud integration strategies. The morning will start with a brief discussion by Carole Ong of IBM about IBM’s recent purchase of Weather.com.  Then the cloud integration presentation will follow with an example of integrating an Internet of Things project (cameras) using a cloud strategy. Milan is an evangelist for the technology and Ron is the legal pragmatist who will explain legal aspects such as liability at critical junctions. We are hoping for a lively, informal session where the audience participation will bring advice and pointed questions for Milan and Ron to riff on.
