Friday May 5th, 2017: Internet Of Things – An IBM session on IoT’s potential, direction and facilitation

Connect. Share. Learn.

ATTENTION ALL BI/DW AND ANALYTICS PROFESSIONALS!
Please join TDWI Vancouver Chapter on Friday, May 5, for one of the hottest events we have ever put on. Come see IBM lead a session on the potential, direction, and facilitation of the Internet of Things. We will have more information soon, including the detailed abstract and the biographies of the presenters. For now, just take a look at this:

The revolution that is the Internet of Things will be a lot like the Internet except bigger. The connection of physical devices to the Internet and to each other has the ability to change entire industries—and our everyday lives. Analysts believe over 20B devices will be connected by 2020—all producing near-continual streams of real-time, information-rich data that will facilitate business efficiencies and consumer experiences never before dreamed possible. Collecting, assembling, understanding, visualizing, and analyzing that data—and driving meaningful insights—will be both an art and a science, and it will require new ways of understanding how we work with information. Learn perspectives on how and where organizations can get started with IoT; facilitating safe and simple collection of data; leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning for big data; and inter-relevance of other disruptive technologies like blockchain, digital twin, and conversational mesh. A session on the potential, direction, and facilitation of the Internet of Things.

Chris Fortin, a business unit executive for IBM Canada, is putting together a set of experts who will give leading-edge presentations on many of the Internet Of Things' most significant aspects. The 3-hour session on May 5 will be jam-packed with perspectives and technical advice that could help your organization catch the IoT brass ring. We will send out updates on the exact abstracts and presenter bios over the next two weeks, but if you’ve been to any of our more popular events you’ll know that this one is going to book up fast.
