Register and join your peers at the TDWI Vancouver Chapter on Friday June 2nd for two interesting presentations on Microsoft's vision of the Internet of Things and answering the questions around where to put all that darned IoT data. Here's an overview of the two presentations:
First: The Internet of Things (IoT) is here today in the devices, sensors, cloud services, and data your business uses. Microsoft delivers one of the most comprehensive cloud-based solutions to capitalize on IoT by gathering, storing, and processing data centrally. Learn about Microsoft’s position on IoT as well as new exciting announcements from Microsoft to help you create the Internet of Your Things. (See Sunil's biography below.)
Second: A Crown Corporation needed a data management and analytics (DM&A) architecture that would enable timely and appropriate access to insights and trustworthy data. A modern big data architecture that eliminated unnecessary architectural components and minimized complexity was proposed. To demonstrate the value of the architecture, we executed the first end-to-end big data analytics proof of concept (PoC) on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Canada – from technology implementation to generation of actionable insights. The PoC was a successful demonstration of how we can minimize the time to insight/value and cost of ownership while maximizing data management and analytics technical capabilities.
