Some would say that the data warehouse is dead.  Too costly, takes too long, hard and expensive to change.  If the data warehouse pain was reduced, would you not see it as a valuable asset to corporate operations and decision making?

In this presentation learn about a BI product segment know as data warehouse automation.  Chris shows how data warehouse automation can handle repetitive and mundane development tasks to allow you more time to focus on meeting business requirements and deadlines.  He will discuss how automation embraces and facilitates agile development as well as highlight its deployment and documentation capabilities.  Chris will close the session demonstrating an automation tool in action.

10:00 –10:15 a.m.

Break and Networking

10:15 – 11:00 a.m.

As a 174-year-old company in a rapidly changing industry, The Globe and Mail has been on a multi-year driven modernization journey. This has involved a very successful adoption of data science and analytics, a migration to cloud technologies, and new strategies and skills development. Come hear how the Globe is building a world-class data-driven media organization with maximum agility for their operations.

One core technology leveraged is Snowflake’s Cloud Data Warehouse, which Naflid and Daniel will share the details. As well, Stephen Tom from Snowflake, one of the most funded and fastest growing SaaS companies ever, will share a brief demo on their next generation Data Warehouse.
