Data Privacy is becoming ever more important, from high profile breaches having major impacts to reputations to new legislation like GDPR and CCPA creating real financial incentives to take this much more seriously than in years past.  What does all this mean for us data professionals?  What are the practical implications and what must we learn and change in our work to address it?   Learn from data privacy experts Katie Stevens and Eric Wojcik of Protiviti, followed by a panel of local industry leaders on how they are addressing Data Privacy at their organizations.

Bios of Presenters

Katie Stevens is a Director in the Protiviti Technology Consulting practice with a specific focus in Security, Privacy, and Identity and Access Management (IAM). Katie has over 15 years of Security & Privacy experience and 19 years of overall technology experience. Prior to joining Protiviti, Katie assumed a lead Technology Risk & Compliance role at a global banking firm with main focus in Security & Risk Management, Identity & Access Management, Business Continuity, and Data Protection. After joining Protiviti in 2011, Katie has provided Security & Privacy services for clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, healthcare services, retail, consumer products, and legal services.

Eric Wojcik is a Senior Manager in the Kansas City office. He has 15 years of experience leading large analytic teams, developing data models and user content, and implementing analytics strategy. He has managed large international teams as the Director of Analytic Applications for a food and beverage corporation and was an Assistant Vice President leading the consolidated financial reporting for a Fortune 10 bank. As a consultant, he has advised and developed analytical content for more than 2 dozen companies. He had created analytic program governance, target development team structures, created end-user adoption strategies, modernized (migrating or upgrading) technical landscapes, created analytical centers of excellence, UI/UX/data visualization and developed SOPs and technical quality standards.
