The consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry has seen tremendous change driven by media fragmentation, channel fragmentation and rapid shifts in consumer behavior. Manufacturers and retailers in this industry require strategies and actions that are driven by insight. That insight must be derived from very granular and timely data & information. Chris von der Linden with IRI will talk about the challenges these changes have presented for the industry and show how clients are using powerful tools to solve for them.

Bios of Presenters

Chris von der Linden
Chris is Senior Vice President (Principal) of Consumer & Shopper Marketing (CSM) at IRI. Currently he manages a $25MM portion of the CSM business with an emphasis on Protein, Alcoholic Beverages, and Dairy/Bakery/Perishable clients. He is responsible for a team of 20+ people and ~20% of the total CSM revenue. He is responsible for the sales/service of all CSM products ranging from Consumer Panel Data and it’s delivery platforms to Primary Consumer Survey research, Virtual Shopper Tests; Digital Shopper marketing programs and . He originally was hired to focus on the launch and servicing of a next generation service in Geo Segmentation and Targeting known as ShopperSights™. Chris was instrumental in building all aspects of that product from Product Strategy to Sales/Service. ShopperSights™ grew from just a few hundred thousands of dollars in revenue when he started to nearly $8MM in just two years.  
Mark Konya – Principal Industry Consultant, SAS Global Marketing - ‎SAS

Mark earned his graduate degrees in physics at Washington University (St. Louis) and nuclear engineering at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana). With over 35 years of utility sector experience in nuclear power generation, distribution system reliability engineering, industrial engineering and customer analytics, Mark shares his insights and expertise with customers on how to integrate SAS into utility and energy company operations. Mark has numerous publications to his credit, including a landmark poster delivered at the 2013 SAS Global Forum focusing on optimizing resource allocation for restoring customer outages following a storm. Mark is a registered professional engineer in two states, a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and a member of IEEE.

Brian Yount - Director, Virtual Care Services Research, Evaluation and Enterprise Analytics, Mercy Health

 Byron is Director of Virtual Care Services Research, Evaluation, and Enterprise Analytics at Mercy Virtual, the virtual care development and delivery organization of Mercy Health located in Chesterfield, Missouri. Dr. Yount serves a diversely talented team responsible for business intelligence and reporting, advanced analytics, program and technology evaluation, and process improvement with a focus on nurturing a relationship- and data-driven culture of learning and doing.
