Presentation: Decentralizing Analytics – A Strategy that Works by Ken Raetz/Think Data Insights

The traditional model for data warehouse and business intelligence solutions delivery has been difficult to sustain. Seasoned architects and BI thought leaders often find themselves challenged to meet the insatiable demand for information from the user community. As such, the trend for information delivery is moving toward self-service. How do you implement a self-service strategy that really works?
Ken will share a strategic approach to self-service analytics involving decentralizing the effort and resources required to build solutions and pushing those capabilities out into the organization. His experiences defining strategies and building solutions in organizations on a national level have given him great understanding of how to overcome the traditional challenges of DW/BI delivery. In this session, Ken will describe from real-world customer examples how to properly build a solid, decentralized self-service delivery model and how you can get started.

1:15 – 1:30 p.m.

Break & Networking

1:30 – 2:45 p.m.

Presentation: Discussion and Q&A on Requirements for Successful BI and BI’s Top Challenges/BI Leadership Panel

Business intelligence in some form or fashion has been going on for over 20 years now and most organizations have some process or program established around it. Whether your company refers to it as BI, data warehousing, analytics, data science, or something else, there are consistencies in what brings success and what challenges we all face. A group of BI leaders from the TN TDWI Chapter has been polled and provided their input on these two questions. This session will review their answers, elaborate on critical aspects, and provide plenty of time for Q&A. This is a session you don’t want to miss.

2:45 – 3:00 p.m.

Q&A and Wrap-up
