Utilization of data analytics platforms and global data centers provide faster business decisions. Security architecture improvements continue to evolve to meet the challenges of IoT.

Bios of Presenters

Mark McLaughlin, Global Insurance Director - IBM

Mark leads IBM’s Global Insurance team to predict industry business and technology trends, leverage those insights for the world’s largest insurers, and develop IBM solutions in the insurance vertical.  Mark directs IBM strategic collaborations with senior industry leaders, bringing IBM’s experience and innovation together to build sustainable competitive advantage for insurers.  Mark also presents insurance industry research frequently to insurance conference audiences worldwide.  Mark previously has led business units in insurance distribution and analytics, technology infrastructure, CRM, and insurance business process.  Mark has personally led implementations in strategy, program management, analytics, data warehousing, expert systems, commercial claims, underwriting for multiple top 20 US insurers.  He is a 20+ year veteran of the insurance industry.

Diana Salazar, Architecture and Information Security Consultant
Diana Salazar has managed implementations for large organizations in a wide variety of industries.  Diana’s information security framework implementations have received multi-year compliance and certification from Business Organizations, Big 8 consulting organizations and numerous US Federal Government agencies. In her consulting and program management capacity she has consulted to IBM, Ernst and Young, Sigma Solutions a Pivot Company, and numerous Fortune 1000 organizations.  She engages with executives from a variety of fields to help create synergistic solutions to business-impacting problems. She has experience in Enterprise Information Security Program Framework Implementation, Infrastructure Systems and Operation, BI, Process Improvement, and deployment of core enterprise Information technology platforms. She has certifications in Information Security IT controls, audit, enterprise governance, and risk areas. Diana holds a B.S. in Engineering from UCLA, and Masters education from SANS Institute in Information Security Engineering.

Shaun W. Malott, Vice President Wealth Management – Northern Trust
Shaun Malott is a data management professional with 15 years of experience supporting financial services. His skills include data governance, data stewardship, data quality, data architecture, data modeling, and project management. He is currently engaged in developing the data quality program for Wealth Management at Northern Trust. Shaun holds a B.S. in Computer Technology from Purdue University, and an M.S. in Information Systems from DePaul University.
