Jaspersoft Introduces Utility-Priced BI Server on Amazon Web Services Marketplace

Jaspersoft has introduced its business intelligence (BI) platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. The offering, which can be run standalone or embedded inside another application, means users can purchase cloud-based BI software on an hourly basis with no user or data limitations and no monthly fee.
Jaspersoft’s BI server, available on AWS Marketplace, starts at 40 cents per hour (plus applicable AWS EC2 charges). The BI offering automatically configures AWS services, allowing users to go from purchasing the software to working with their data in a matter of minutes. Customers can quickly and cost effectively get insight from their data in Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon Redshift, AWS’s new data warehousing service announced in November 2012, as well as traditional relational data stores.
Karl Van den Bergh, Jaspersoft vice president of product and alliances, points out that ”We are going after the petabytes of data in the cloud that have not yet been tapped for insight because current BI offerings are too expensive and too restrictive. With this new BI service, we are allowing millions of developers and IT professionals to easily and cost-effectively power the intelligence inside their cloud applications.”
