Talend, a global open source software provider, has released Talend Cloud, its Cloud-enabled Integration Platform and a comprehensive unified integration platform for the cloud and hybrid IT environments. An extension of the recently announced Unified Integration Platform, Talend Cloud offers elasticity, ubiquity, extensibility, security, and reliability to organizations that want to ensure the integrity of their integration processes whether on-premise, in the cloud, via SaaS, or in hybrid environments.

For organizations with hybrid IT environments -- those that combine on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, and SaaS -- application and data integration are extremely critical and entail more complexity than traditional on-premise systems. Concerns about latency, bandwidth, permissions, and security are raising new integration challenges. Talend Cloud provides flexible and secure integration of on-premise systems, cloud-based systems, and SaaS applications. Based on Talend’s Unified Integration Platform, it also provides a common environment for users to manage the entire lifecycle of integration processes including a graphical development environment, a deployment mechanism and runtime environment for operations and a monitoring console for management -- all built atop a shared metadata repository.

Talend Cloud provides complete deployment flexibility of all Talend’s solutions and technologies within the Unified Integration Platform, including data integration, data quality, master data management, and enterprise service bus. All components can be installed transparently in the cloud, on premise, or in hybrid mode, and ensure the overall orchestration and integrity of integration processes.

Key benefits of Talend Cloud include:

  • Elasticity: Supports the ability to expand and contract deployments as required
  • Ubiquity: Support for standard systems and protocols; the open source model makes resources easily accessible by a myriad of platforms and devices
  • Extensibility: The modular architecture allows organizations to add, modify, or remove functionality as requirements change
  • Security and reliability: The ability to maintain security and reliability of integration, allowing organizations to meet customer service-level agreements

Talend Cloud provides automated deployment on cloud platforms such as Amazon EC2, Cloud.com, and Eucalyptus. Also included in Talend Cloud are new connectors, offering native connectivity to a broad range of key cloud technologies and applications as well as the most popular SaaS applications including Salesforce.com, NetSuite, SugarCRM, BIRT OnDemand, Marketo, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, Database.com, Hadoop, Google Applications, Google Analytics, and Twitter. New connectors are added regularly by the open source community or by Talend’s R&D organization. The Talend Exchange provides the latest connectors which can be downloaded and installed directly within the Talend Studio at no per-connector cost.
