Expert Panel: Data Management in the Age of AI
Webinar Speaker: James Kobielus, Senior Research Director for Data Management
Date: Monday, July 29, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET
TDWI sees data management practices, platforms, and tools evolving rapidly to support diverse AI use cases. By the same token, AI is a key element in modern data management environments.
Generative AI, powered by LLMs and other advanced neural net algorithms, is driving fresh innovations in data platforms, analytics, governance, and beyond. AI-infused tools are helping enterprises automate, augment, and accelerate many data management functions and thereby reduce costs, scale workloads, and improve service levels.
In this panel, TDWI senior research director James Kobielus will engage data and analytics experts in an in-depth discussion of how AI is being used to improve data management. The discussion will focus on several key issues:
- How should enterprises incorporate vector databases into their next-generation data analytics architectures?
- What are the advantages and limitations of prompt-based, LLM-driven, automated coding of ETL and other data engineering logic?
- How should enterprises rearchitect their data fabrics to support the expected demand for multimodal applications of generative AI?
- Should enterprises implement separate lakehouses for managing synthetic data in support of MLOps use cases?
- What new governance approaches are most promising for reducing hallucinations, mitigating toxic outputs, and ensuring ethical behavior from generative and other next-generation AI applications?
- How should enterprises improve their data observability architectures to support automated generative rollup of logs and metadata into narratives in support of issue detection and root cause analysis?
- Is generative data query optimization the wave of the future?
