Branch Performance Metrics is an analytics application that is used by more than 20,000 branch personnel and management to gain better insight into the sales and pipeline numbers. Replacing what was a manual process, we will describe the business case for Branch PM, the challenges we had to overcome to build it, and how it ultimately changed the way we measure and manage performance at U.S. Bank. |

Bios of Presenters
Bio:
Darrin LaPoint
Darrin LaPoint is a senior management consultant in architecture, former head of application architecture for Accenture at Best Buy, and current Director of Charter Solutions’ Architecture Center of Excellence, an organization providing consulting services and mentoring on architectural best practices and standards for the education, healthcare, finance, and retail industries.
Darrin is well versed in a myriad of technologies and business applications from enterprise-class ERP, WMS, and CRM platforms, commercial off the shelf integrations, custom development initiatives, business process platforms and rules engines. Some of his clients include the University of Minnesota, Caribou Coffee, Redwing Shoes, Aetna, United HealthCare, General Mills, Northwest Airlines, and MCI Telecom. He is an adjunct professor of graduate studies for Strategic IT and for Enterprise Architecture and Development at the University of St Thomas, St Paul, Minnesota.
While in these roles, Darrin has been instrumental in crafting solutions that are appropriate, scalable, and manageable with an eye towards the establishment of proper governance, guidelines and standards. Equally important, his broad spectrum of knowledge has enabled him to introduce innovative solutions and thought processes to clients to help formulate efficient and effective solutions to difficult problems. Darrin has worked with companies of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 100 companies.
Peter Lindahl
Vice President, Enterprise Research & Analytics
Peter is the leader of People & Performance Analytics at U.S. Bancorp in Minneapolis, MN. In this capacity he guides the Workforce Analytics team and supports the company's performance management resources such as Branch PM, a retail banking reporting application with over 20,000 registered users.
Prior to U.S. Bancorp, Peter led Workforce Analytics at The Walt Disney Company in Burbank, CA, a group dedicated to managing the movement and financial controls of the company's 180,000 worldwide employees. Prior to that he ran Customer Analytics for Optum Health, a division of UnitedHealth Group, directing market research, competitive intelligence and customer relationship management functions. While at Optum he also served as the financial officer of the LifeEra division.
Peter began his career in investment banking and venture capital in the technology sector of San Francisco, CA.
