Succeeding in the Subscriber Economy: How Media and Streaming Businesses Leverage Data to Acquire and Regain Subscribers

Webinar Speaker: David Stodder, Senior Director of Research for BI, TDWI

Date: Wednesday, January 18, 2023

Time: 9:00 a.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. ET

Competition to attract and retain customers is fierce across many industries, in none more so than media and entertainment. This is especially true with the advent of over-the-top (OTT) media services that offer content streamed directly to viewers, usually through a subscription. With more choices, customer behavior is now less predictable. Simple assumptions about what makes customers happy and prevents them from churning no longer hold. Change is constant.

Organizations need 360-degree views of customer journeys based on integrated data from a variety of sources to develop rich, actionable insights for marketing, content development, advertising, and more. Decision makers require timely data about which content is rising or declining in popularity, what customers are searching for, and when and where customers choose to view content (such as on mobile devices). Programming and scheduling optimization depend on actionable data insights. Partners could also benefit, which opens up opportunities to offer monetized analytics services and access to governed data sets through data marketplaces and exchanges.

Join this TDWI Webinar to learn how organizations can deploy sophisticated subscriber and media analytics on top of scalable cloud data management to win the competition to acquire and retain customers. Speakers will describe best practices and technology trends critical to developing insights into customer behavior. We will discuss how analytics, including AI/ML, enables you to meet goals for increasing customer growth and retention.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • How successful media organizations leverage data to attract and retain customers in a subscriber economy
  • Steps for developing timely, 360-degree customer views and analytics based on shared platforms that integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Analytics strategies for personalizing customer recommendations and optimizing content
  • TDWI perspectives on how the subscriber economy shapes the future of data management and analytics for media and entertainment companies
  • Ensuring that the highest standards of data governance are maintained at all times
