Webinar Abstract

There is a lot of excitement in the market about machine learning, natural language processing, and AI. Although many of these technologies have been available for decades, new advancements in compute along with some new algorithmic developments are making these technologies more attractive. More organizations are embracing these advanced technologies for a number of reasons, including improving operational efficiencies, better understanding behaviors, and to gain competitive advantage.

We have found that organizations are making use of these advanced technologies in numerous ways. Some are using machine learning for traditional use cases such as fraud and risk analysis or analyzing customer behavior. Others are building interactive chatbots and B2B applications that provide information and analytics using a natural language interface. Deep learning is being used to classify images and diagnose diseases. The use cases are wide and growing.

Early adopters’ experiences provide clues as to best practices that those now getting started with these technologies can use to gain advantage more quickly. For instance, early adopters are building Centers of Excellence; they are hiring data scientists and analytics leaders. They are focused on data quality for analytics and operationalizing their analytics. Overall, one thing is clear—those who are utilizing these technologies now are gaining value.

Join Fern Halper, TDWI VP and Senior Research Director for Advanced Analytics, to learn more about the research findings in her new Best Practices Report about AI, machine learning, and natural language processing. Fern will discuss her findings and present best practices for adopting and deploying these technologies. This includes organizational strategies for deploying advanced analytics as well as technology options.
