A catalog collects metadata and other information about how data elements are defined, modeled, and related. It also can document where the data is located.
Automation and the infusion of AI/ML have modernized enterprise data catalogs. Automation enables organizations to replace traditionally manual tasks such as populating the catalog, classifying metadata, and removing duplicates.

Peter leads the product management team for one of the product lines - data catalog. Peter was hired in 2015 (November) as the second Collibra product manager when Collibra was only 70 people strong. Prior to joining Collibra, Peter worked in product management at Nikon Metrology (formerly Metris). He was responsible for software that generated 3D models based on laser scans. This was used for dimensional quality control in automotive and aerospace industries. Peter has a master’s degree in electromechanical engineering from KU Leuven.

Danny Sandwell is an IT industry veteran who has focused on maximizing value from data for more than 30 years. As senior market strategist at Quest, he is responsible for communicating the capabilities, use cases, and business value of the company’s data empowerment solutions.
During Danny’s 25 years with the erwin brand, he also has worked in consulting, solution architecture, product management, business development, and strategy roles – all giving him opportunities to engage with customers across various industries as they plan, develop, govern, protect, and deliver their enterprise data architectures and assets.
His goal is to help enterprises unlock the value of their data assets while mitigating data-related risks.
