Webinar Speaker: Fern Halper, TDWI VP Research, Senior Research Director for Advanced Analytics

Time: 9:00 a.m. PT, 12:00 p.m. ET
Organizations are migrating to the cloud to manage new and complex data types and to support analytics. In a recent survey, the vast majority of respondents agreed with the statement that “the cloud is the future of data management.” At TDWI, we see that cloud data warehouses and cloud data lakes are already mainstream.
The cloud provides many benefits such as scalability, flexibility, and extensibility. However, as organizations move to the cloud they have concerns, too. In our research, we see that the top obstacle for the cloud is data governance in cloud environments. Data governance involves the policies, processes, and technologies organizations put in place to ensure that the rules are followed when it comes to data, as well as to build trust in their data. However, when it comes to governance at scale in the cloud, many are resorting to an enterprise data catalog.
Join TDWI’s VP of Research, Fern Halper, as she discusses key principles for governing data in the cloud. Topics include:
- Governance principles to consider before and after cloud data migration
- Automation and augmentation to simplify cloud data governance
- Expanding governance in multicloud environments
