As more organizations look to support advanced analytics, they are moving to a hybrid data architecture that includes both on-premises warehouses and cloud alternatives; this is part of a modern data architecture. An important piece of this architecture is the cloud data platform—a single integrated platform available on the cloud that houses diverse data and provides services such as a data warehouse, data lake, analytics, and/or administrative tooling.
The cloud data platform provides scalability, flexibility, and elasticity for organizations looking to analyze new data in new ways. At TDWI, we see more organizations adopting cloud data platforms as part of their data management strategies.
However, TDWI research indicates that data governance is a top concern among organizations using the cloud for data management because data is distributed, is often at high volumes and velocities, and requires people and processes to deal with governance on a new platform. Although the same core principles hold for cloud data governance as for on-premises data governance, organizations will still need to plan their governance strategies as they adopt new platforms such as cloud data platforms.
Join this webinar to learn more about governing data in the cloud. You will learn about the processes, policies, roles, and technologies required for governing data on new cloud platforms.
