Webinar Abstract
Today, there are many opportunities to use data in new and exciting ways to drive business decisions. This runs the gamut from better treatment plans for patients to improved logistics to better targeting display ads to potential customers. Organizations are more often looking to make better decisions using analytics. In fact, TDWI routinely sees that the principle driver for any data technology – be it data warehouse modernization or predictive analytics is better decision making.
As companies increase their usage of both internal and external data for decision making, they need to be able to integrate and organize that data in a way that makes it accessible to more users performing analysis to drive business value. A data catalog- a searchable data directory or inventory that describes the data- is an important piece of this. Organizations can make use of the catalog to search for data sets that are relevant to their analysis rather than having to spend time looking across multiple siloed disparate data sets. Today’s advanced catalogs, which often incorporate artificial intelligence technologies can provide business users with natural language interfaces to help in search across multiple sources, in the same way that consumers search the Internet using popular search engines.
Register for this webinar to learn more about how modern data catalogs can help business make better decisions. In this webinar, we’ll be joined by experts from Unifi as well as Anil Srivastava, Founder and President of the Open Health Systems Laboratory (OHSL), a global team science consortia which is leveraging data and analytics technology to provide a quicker and better global public health response. Anil will describe how OHSL is using the Unifi Data Platform to provide a searchable source of aggregated cancer research data. The Oncologist’s bed-side Decision Support System, being developed under the guidance of OHSL, will interface directly with the Unifi Data Catalog to provide access to the required data.
