Making Sense of Hadoop and its Ecosystem: An Investigation into the Evolution and Deployment of Hadoop

For better or worse, Hadoop is experiencing a level of adoption which indicates that its ecosystem will become prevalent in the area of analytics and BI applications for the corporate environment. This white paper discusses the roles and applications for which Hadoop is best suited. While Hadoop is dominating the BI and analytics environment and evolving in the direction of becoming an OS for data, it most likely will not arrive safely at such a destination any time soon. This is primarily because there is currently no overall control of the direction of Hadoop.
