New approaches for new business uses and technical requirements
A recent TDWI survey reveals that roughly a quarter of organizations polled already have a data warehouse that is deployed exclusively in the cloud. Another quarter have a hybrid data warehouse that distributes data across data platforms on premises and the cloud. Clearly, the cloud is firmly established as a viable platform for data warehousing.
In a related trend, organizations of many sizes and industries continue to modernize their data warehouses so they can keep pace with evolving data and growing data-driven practices in analytics and self-service. Modernization takes many forms, but several of them involve the adoption of new data platforms, and users increasingly choose cloud-based platforms.
These two trends intersect such that data warehouse modernization and cloud adoption often go hand in hand. This is largely because both seek to ensure extreme scalability, lower administrative and platform costs, and support new business analytics. This webinar will discuss both practices, with a focus on coordinating the two.
