TDWI Checklist Report | Six Requirements of the Modern Data and Analytics Cloud Stack
August 20, 2021
Today, many organizations realize their current data and analytics environment may not meet their business needs, and they want to modernize their data and analytics environments.
At TDWI, we see companies moving all parts of their analytics infrastructure—including traditional on-premises data warehouses and desktop analytics tools—to a cloud architecture. Cloud platforms such as cloud data warehouses and data lakes are already mainstream. However, this is often not enough; organizations are also updating their data pipelines and completing their modernization with new search capabilities and AI-driven cloud analytics platforms.
The pillars of a stack to support modern data and analytics include the cloud data platform, modern data pipeline tools that can handle data at scale, and a modern cloud analytics platform that utilizes augmented technology such as natural language query and AI to deliver real-time insights. All of these must be tightly integrated.
This TDWI Checklist Report examines what a modern stack means in the modern world and explores six characteristics of a truly modern data and analytics cloud stack.
