“Data:  The Real Power Behind Today’s Technology”, by Laura Reeves, Principal, StarSoft Solutions, Inc.

How can we adapt to the new tech-savvy user and the proliferation of visual tools? Apps all seem intuitive and easy to use, right? We can interact more flexibly with more devices of all shapes and sizes. When we are seeking entertainment, we just push a few buttons and we are up and running. But what does all this mean when we want to harness new technologies to run our businesses?
It’s all about the data. It always has been.
Data is the foundation for business analytics.  It is critical to understand the data you have and deliver it to the business community in a manner that makes sense to them.  Collaboration between the business and IT is more crucial than ever before. We need to work together to understand and communicate what data we have and what it means, and help people learn how to leverage it.
This session will feature a workshop to explore how knowledge about data is captured, communicated and used.  Small groups will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share challenges and experiences.  We will reconvene as a large group to share discussion highlights.  Laura will then present proven methods to cultivate this partnership and increase adoption of your business intelligence solution that encompasses the wide array of data and technology available today.  This is all geared to drive real business value.
Geared to: All levels of data warehousing, business intelligence and data management professionals.
