Simba Technologies Enables Virtual OLAP Cubes for Big Data with Kognitio Pablo

Simba Technologies Inc. has delivered a big data, in-memory, Multi-Dimensional eXpressions (MDX) query language solution to power Kognitio Pablo that enables train-of-thought analytics on extreme data.
Building on the heritage of Kognitio’s WX2 analytic, in-memory, MPP database, Pablo creates virtual OLAP cube environments on the fly. By utilizing Simba’s MDX protocol and a metadata layer, Pablo creates an ad-hoc virtual cube that can be created in seconds and minutes rather than the usual hours taken by traditional database solutions. Because all information is accessible by Pablo at all times, there are no delays or extra resources required to populate virtual cubes, significantly reducing latency and the total cost of ownership of using data. Recently launched, Pablo is gaining traction within the financial services community, where organizations were previously faced with the challenge of creating and populating physical cubes.
The Simba MDX protocol fully leverages Kognitio’s in-memory data processing technology to ensure extremely fast, train-of-thought analytics by Kognitio customers on Big Data. Kognitio customers are able to use the OLAP-based Business Intelligence (BI) tool of their choice to query, analyze and report on their data. Simba’s MDX query-language technology enables compatibility with OLAP-enabled BI applications such as Microsoft Excel, IBM Cognos, and SAP BusinessObjects.
