Cloudera and Intel jointly commissioned Unisphere Research, a division of Information Today, Inc., to survey IT and corporate line of business managers involved in or responsible for data center operations.

Call it a virtual cycle. Companies generate, capture, and store more information. New technologies are introduced to manage the information more effectively and new applications are developed to better use the information. The more dynamic use of information leads to the desire to generate, capture, store, and use more information, which in turn leads to the development of new technology.

Responding to the opportunities presented by the creation, access to, and application of more data requires that data centers be re-imagined and re-architected at regular intervals.
