Talend Sponsored Retail Survey on: Shopping Basket Abandonment

According to a recent Talend survey, 4 out of 10 online shoppers in the UK abandon their shopping carts 50% of the time or more before they complete a purchase. This represents hundreds of billions in merchandise and a significant loss of potential revenue for retailers. However, as much as 40% of this revenue could be recovered with the timely delivery of special offers.
The white paper reveals key data on consumer behavior, including:
- 42% of consumers intend to purchase the goods in their shopping cart, but only 4% complete the purchase
- 90% of consumers say they would either complete a purchase or return to an abandoned cart, if they were offered free delivery
