Just as disconnected data silos increase data latency and integration complexity, people and team silos tend to generate resource conflicts, project overlaps, data redundancy, data governance risks, and higher costs. Advances are uneven across different departments and operations. Disputes arise between teams and departments over who has the most trusted data, analytics, and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). Data quality problems are never fully solved. It’s slow and difficult for new managers and employees to become productive with data.
