Generative AI has taken the world by storm due to its wide-ranging potential applications.
Generative AI applications automate the generation of content, primarily by leveraging foundation models—neural network algorithms that have been trained with semi-supervised learning and incorporate sophisticated techniques such as transformer models and diffusion models. An example is a large language model (LLM) that can predict which word statistically comes next within the response to a user’s text prompt or instruction.
Generative AI is already being used to automate the generation of source code, news articles, marketing materials, and document summaries. It is also being used to generate images, video clips, musical compositions, and other non-textual outputs.
