TDWI Checklist Report | Developing a Mature Approach to Information Risk Management
May 20, 2021
As organizations grow, they tend to face increased risks associated with security and protection of sensitive data.
Organizations struggling to navigate the transition from start-up to mature business need to support increasing demands for data governance and information risk management. Growing companies will embrace more sophisticated data analysis, different individuals will require access to more data, and different access control methods will be necessary for workloads that fulfill different business needs.
As enterprises adopt hybrid multicloud architectures, the complexity of a data landscape spanning multiple environments increases the risks to sensitive data. Examples include malicious breaches by external agents, inadvertent exposure of protected data, and unauthorized access perpetrated by malicious insiders. Data governance and information risk management must become a mature enterprise initiative.
In this TDWI Checklist, we explore how different levels of information risk require increasingly mature levels of data governance.
