Ninety percent of enterprises that responded claim they use open source for flexibility and efficiency. Open Source Still Heavily Misunderstood

On the other side of the coin, another recent survey found that only 41 percent of enterprise decision makers are planning on increasing open source use. This article argues that this statistic shows how little CIOs understand how ubiquitous open source is. The author also claims such ignorance will lead to a deteriorating open source community as fewer enterprises contribute to new open source development.
