Webinar Abstract
Hub-and-spoke patterns have long been the preferred architecture for data and application integration technologies. That’s because hubs provide an easily understood design, reduce the number of interfaces required, foster reuse, and control data centrally for the purposes of optimization, data standards, and governance. However, there’s a new generation of data integration hub coming that even nontechnical users can employ to publish data, so that other users can easily subscribe to that data and bring it into their applications with minimal involvement from IT.
To make data published into the hub as reusable as possible when subscribed to, the hub decouples data sources from destinations, transforms data as it is accessed, and supports any data latency, from batch to real time. Ideally, the data integration hub also certifies data so users trust it, provides data security and access controls, and enables visibility into data, its lineage, and integration processes. Other benefits of the modern data integration hub include integrated data quality functions, the one-to-many publication of data, fast on-boarding for new data, and accelerated time to use and business value.
You will learn:
- Why hub architectures are more important that ever to data integration and related disciplines
- The many business and technology requirements and benefits of a next-generation data integration hub
- The special enabling role played in the hub by data virtualization and business-friendly tools for self service
