Modern analytics represents the evolution of data and analytics. From on-premises data warehouses to scalable cloud data platforms and unified platform approaches. From reactive analytics to proactive machine learning, NLP, and other more advanced techniques. It includes new paradigms such as the data fabric and the data mesh, as well as new organizational constructs such as the data office, literacy enablement teams, MLOps, and more. Many organizations are excited to use the power of advanced analytics because they understand the value it can provide.
However, organizations are struggling to move forward. For instance, in a recent TDWI survey, almost 75 percent of respondents stated that they were struggling to move to the next level of analytics maturity. Analytics leadership was cited as the top area for improvement in that same survey. Leadership designs and organizational structures are two areas that warrant examination. In this keynote, TDWI’s Fern Halper will share some recent research that takes a deep dive into models for organizational success with modern data and analytics. This includes staffing, new teams, and how to support modern data governance.
