Although data management has been both a corporate focus and a robust career path for many years, it has constantly evolved over time. As new data, new technologies, and new algorithms become available, it is necessary to not only modify existing approaches but also develop new approaches to address gaps. Recently, the pace of change following the rise of generative AI rivals that of the period when the cloud exploded a few years ago and the period when big data first hit the scene over a decade ago.
This talk will outline a range of considerations that must be taken into account to ensure a data management strategy is keeping up with the times. The perspectives of user enablement, risk management, and scale will all be touched upon. By the end of the talk, attendees will have some specific concepts and actions that they can take back to their organizations to keep their own data management strategy on track.
