Hands-On Machine Learning Bootcamp

A TDWI Certificate Track

Virtual Classroom
June 24–26, 2024
9:00am – 5:00pm CT

David Langer

Dave on Data

Machine learning and AI are the hottest areas in data and analytics, and this bootcamp will cover everything you need to get started! Through a series of lectures and hands-on labs, you will learn how to match business challenges to analytics techniques like classification and clustering. You will develop the skills necessary to prepare the data, then learn how to apply and tune popular machine learning algorithms including decision trees, the random forest, k-means, and DBSCAN. This bootcamp leverages Python, but the concepts and techniques you learn will apply to any machine learning technology you use in the future.

Not already familiar with Python? No problem! The courses in this bootcamp include free access to an on-demand course called Python Quick Start. Complete it before the event and you will be fully up to speed in time for the seminar.

Dive into the world of machine learning and AI with this hands-on bootcamp.

Attend all three days and earn a certificate.

  • Monday, June 24

Getting started with advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning can be intimidating. Where do I start? How much math do I need? What algorithms should I use? The good news is that getting started with machine learning is easy—no really, it is! In this hands-on course, you will be provided with all the fundamentals for understanding and effectively training predictive models for classification, evaluating models for accuracy, and mastering core competencies such as feature engineering. Focusing on core concepts and intuitions means that no complicated math is required.

  • Tuesday, June 25

You must use the best data to build the most valuable machine learning models. This idea is summarized in a famous quote, “Data trumps algorithm.” In this hands-on course, you will learn some of the most useful data wrangling techniques for producing the best data for your machine learning models. This course aims for you to return to work and immediately employ these techniques to wrangle data, enhance data analyses, and craft the most valuable machine learning models.

  • Wednesday, June 26

Take your machine learning skills to the next level with cluster analysis. One of the most useful of all machine learning techniques, cluster analysis has broad applicability across industries and business domains. In this course, you will learn how cluster analysis can be applied to business challenges to provide valuable insights, and you will master k-means and DBSCAN algorithms through a series of hands-on exercises.
