The Challenges of Cloud Data Warehousing and How Data Integration Addresses Them
Webinar Speaker: Philip Russom, Senior Research Director for Data Management
Date: Monday, July 20, 2020
Data integration can improve cloud DWs by improving bulk load to cloud, cluster management, cost control, and data lake curation.
According to the 2020 TDWI survey about data management for advanced analytics, analytics users will triple or quadruple the volume of data they manage on cloud within three years. The primary home of analytics data will shift from “almost exclusively on premises” today to “almost exclusively on cloud” in three years.
This is because as users rethink their data strategies for analytics they are replatforming data warehouses, data lakes, and other large analytics data sets to be on cloud. This is no small feat, and users need to plan ahead to successfully migrate warehouses and lakes to the cloud with minimal technical difficulties and maximum business impact.
This webinar will drill into the leading challenges of data warehousing on the cloud with a focus on addressing those challenges with data integration functionality. Webinar attendees will learn:
- Strategies for migrating a data warehouse and/or data lake to the cloud
- Improving cloud data’s quality, models, metadata, and architecture
- Modern data integration tools and practices, tailored to cloud platforms and cloud data
- The role of data integration in all the above
- Data integration functionality that addresses cloud data warehouse challenges
