Green Data Integration: Tips on Becoming More Ecological and Economical

Webinar Abstract
Driven by rising business costs and a growing concern for ecological issues, many organizations are currently making their data centers “green” by reducing the number of software servers and replacing surviving hardware servers with newer ones that consume less electricity. The numerous system consolidations, migrations, and virtualizations involved in producing a green data center require data integration tools and techniques (among other things), because data must be transformed and improved as it is moved. Hence, green data integration contributes to the greening and efficiency improvements of the modern data center.

You will learn:

  • Business, technical, and ecological drivers behind the green data center
  • Why operational data integration is critical to the greening of a data center
  • Why database consolidation is preferred over database virtualization
  • Special technical and collaborative requirements for green data integration
  • Issues around the staffing, funding, and tooling of green data integration
