Addressing the Next Stage of Open Source BI Acceptance and Adoption

Webinar Abstract
Open source BI is past the early stages of adoption and is entering mainstream use. We're beyond technical feature evaluations - that part is just like any other tool evaluation. Now that the products have matured we're faced with new questions: What situations are appropriate for open source BI software? What obstacles could we run into when trying to introduce open source into the organization? What does introducing open source mean to my existing investments in BI?

This presentation will provide insight into the types of circumstances where open source makes sense, describe some of the problems and objections that are often encountered, and offer guidance on how to navigate the challenges related to adopting open source BI.

You will learn:

  • Does open source matter in the BI market?
  • Why are people adopting open source BI and what are the benefits they see?
  • What are some of the challenges encountered in the typical IT organization?
  • How and where do open source offerings fit into our data warehouse projects?
