Mitigating Information Risks During Cloud Modernization and Migration (With Audience Q&A)

February 17, 2022

Prerequisite: None

David Loshin

Knowledge Integrity

This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.

System security used to be the biggest barrier to adoption of cloud services, but today, cloud service providers have mostly assuaged people’s concerns. Yet security is just one of a number of critical dimensions of information risk that organizations must contend with when modernizing and migrating to the cloud.

In this talk, David Loshin will explore ways of addressing anxieties that surface when planning to migrate to the cloud. David will introduce the concept of “information risk” and how it manifests during a migration process. He will also discuss how proper design and migration planning help alleviate these anxieties and mitigate information risks.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Differences between traditional on-premises vs. cloud-based data architecture
  • Understanding, mapping, and cataloging the enterprise data landscape
  • Differences between system security and information protection
  • Cloud considerations for business continuity
  • Using cloud economics to your advantage
