Responses to a recent TDWI survey predict that within three years the average enterprise will have a greater volume of data on the cloud than on premises. The survey also revealed that some organizations have already passed this tipping point.
Where will cloud-based data go? With very few exceptions, enterprises will store, manage, and process cloud-based data on one or more cloud data platforms. This makes the cloud data platform a mission-critical piece of IT infrastructure, especially in data-driven use cases such as data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
