Tammy Roust, Ph.D.
Chief Data Officer
Commodity Futures Trading Commission
Tammy Roust started her career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she realized the sad reality of trying to develop an econometric model using only 20 data points. Seeking a richer data set, she has held quantitative and financial roles in the public and private sector and is a CFA and CAIA Charterholder. After leaving the CFTC to become the chief data officer for the State of Illinois, she returned as the CFTC’s first chief data officer.
Tammy holds a BS in math and computer science from UCLA and graduate degrees in information systems and technology from Claremont Graduate University.
