Demand is rising for business analytics—for data interactions that go beyond simple reports and dashboards to provide people with data insights about more than what happened—also why, how, and what is likely to happen in the future. More users – and more types of users – want business analytics. Digital transformation of business applications and processes is generating big volumes of data, creating new opportunities for impactful business analytics in operations.

In this talk, TDWI Senior Research Director David Stodder will discuss key trends and research into user practices to consider the evolution from traditional business intelligence to today’s business analytics. The presentation will delve into findings from the recently published TDWI Best Practices Report focused on business analytics.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Self-service functionality: What users can do now and what they would like to be able to do in the future
  • How AI and automation will change how users interact with BI and analytics applications and platforms
  • The urgency to reduce delays in data preparation, provisioning, and integration
  • The role of modern data catalogs in business analytics and governance
