One critical reason analytics projects fail is negative user experience and poor adoption. These points of friction manifest at the user interface level—in other words, the dashboard, the domain of the data visualization team. As the chasm between consumer user experience and enterprise user experience grows, so too does the disaffection for business interfaces.
Dashboards are often designed by a dashboard developer, whose goal is usually to simply load as many features into the dashboard as possible. However, modern consumer UX practices have abstracted complexity from the user interface, a shift that must happen for analytics and business intelligence as well.
This course takes a practical approach to addressing these problems, giving participants the knowledge and processes to ensure dashboards bring value to the business and allow for actionable insights for users. Participants will walk through a live process from business objectives right through to the creation of sketched wireframes.
Note: Registration for this course includes a $150 technology fee to cover the cost of the Dashboard Kit.
