Data Governance Accelerates Data-Driven Decisions (with Audience Q&A)

November 30, 2022

Prerequisite: None

Frank Brizzi

Director, Resource Management Transformation

Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Chief Financial Officer

This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.

The thirst for timely, accurate consolidated data for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to increase. There's no disagreement as to the value of data at DHS—the challenge is implementing data governance across an organization that would rank in the top 70 companies in the Fortune 500.

Within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at DHS, a data governance program was chartered to simplify and streamline access to data while respecting the numerous policies, security requirements, and laws associated with DHS's financial data. The program has utilized data governance best practices from both the commercial sector and the government to accelerate getting data into the hands of the decision makers. Frank Brizzi will discuss the program’s goals and drivers and share the organization’s experiences in deploying data governance within the U.S. Federal Government.
