James G. Kobielus

Senior Director of Research for Data Management

TDWI

This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.

Many enterprises are dealing with complex data and analytics environments as they seek to become more competitive. Data governance has become a top priority and challenge for organizations. It involves the policies and processes organizations put in place to ensure that the right rules are followed when it comes to data and to build trust in their data.

Data governance is implemented through processes, platforms, tools, and organizational controls through which data’s owners maintain its fitness as a business asset. To guide enterprises on their data governance journeys, TDWI created the Data Governance Maturity Model to help organizations assess how their data governance practices compare to their peers.

In this Executive Program presentation, TDWI senior research director James Kobielus will discuss the Maturity Model as a practical framework for companies to benchmark their data governance practices against mature practices from advanced/visionary organizations. He will discuss how organizations can use the model to interactively score their data governance maturity along the dimensions of organizational commitment, processes, accountability, assurance and impact, and tools.
