Mayo Clinic
This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.
During the COVID crisis, hospital leaders at Mayo Clinic were challenged with maintaining a comprehensive view of census and patient flow. Each morning before 7 a.m., analysts were compiling a static, high-level dashboard consolidating key metrics from 15 sources. Weston Burr will discuss how a cross-functional team used this challenge to pilot a new, streamlined architecture to eliminate manual processes, dramatically improve speed-to-delivery, and increase the value of information resources.
Leveraging data virtualization, the team was able to generate an automated, integrated solution in just two weeks, with only partial FTE allocation from participating developers. The resulting solution replaced the previous manual solution while delivering additional detail. With this pilot, the team was able to prove the new architecture’s ability to significantly improve speed-to-delivery and drive business value.
