Organizations of all sizes are in competition to realize value from data – and to realize it faster. Yet, too often they cannot overcome a variety of organizational, governance, and people obstacles along with technology and data issues. In addition, it can be challenging to realize value when what defines “value” is changing as organizations democratize business intelligence (BI) with self-service technologies and seek to increase analytics. Organizations find that they need to adopt new technologies, but are often frustrated because they have not evolved their practices to gain business value.
In 2017, TDWI conducted a major research project to learn what organizations see as their biggest impediments to realizing value from BI and analytics. This presentation will discuss key findings from the project and offer recommendations for how organizations can move faster define their objectives and gain value.
